Product Manager

Job Description

Product manager for wound care, skin care, and nutrition products based at the DermaRite corporate headquarters in North Bergen, New Jersey. Our organization is poised for significant growth, so we are adding this expansion position. We are looking for a dynamic and business-minded professional. In this growth phase with ongoing change, we need someone who can learn new areas, work with a cross-functional team, and does not shy away from challenges.

Job Purpose

Assist in driving sales growth of DermaRite accounts and distribution channels through product development and execution of marketing strategies, implementation of new product launches, and support of the field sales organization.

Duties

  • Responsible for the product end to end – this includes understanding competition and customer needs, writing functional specifications, development, and releasing the product.
  • Monitors product development progress across manufacturing, quality, regulatory and marketing.
  • Understand product details and lead product related technical and business analysis activities.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize to manage multiple product lines.
  • Provide input to assist the product development team with decisions on product additions, changes, and discontinuations.
  • Respond to sales representative inquiries relating to product specifications, features, and benefits.
  • Provide input for forecasting new products and anticipated changes in demand for existing products.
  • Coordinate new product launches, including development of training, sales literature, and other relevant support.
  • Assist with developing and updating all marketing materials.
  • Provide input for the development and presentation of product training material.
  • The candidate will be required to work independently as well as with upper management to accomplish sales growth by sharing knowledge, experience, and information in order to optimize overall sales and expand brand recognition.
  • Maintain a positive team approach with customers and colleagues and contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as requested by management for maintenance and growth of company sales.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will have 2+ years product management experience in the medical device industry.
  • Experience working in the post-acute market is preferred. This includes long-term care facilities, home health agencies, and hospice agencies.
  • Experience working in the wound care industry will be a significant advantage.
  • Must have strong verbal/ written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to network and communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Comfortable giving group training presentations.
  • 2+ years Outside Sales experience in the medical device industry is preferred.
  • Overnight travel will be less than 25% and national in scope.
  • BS or BA degree is required, preferably in science or business.
  • Must reside within reasonable commuting distance of the company’s North Bergen, NJ corporate office.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office.

QA Incoming Inspector Job Description

Position Summary

Perform the sampling and inspection activities of incoming materials and products. The inspector must complete all inspection tasks in a timely fashion and is expected to contribute to the goals and objective of the Quality organization

Skills & Specifications

  • HS Diploma or above
  • 2+ years previous experience in quality control inspection role (preferably cosmetics/pharmaceutical/medical devices)
  • Experience in basic inspection hand gauging and related equipment.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Visual inspection skills are required.
  • Strong organizational skills. Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Ability to read and follow documents (Standard Operating Procedures)
  • Knowledge of cGMP requirements
  • Good math skills plus the ability to convert between Standard and Metric systems.
  • Excellent communication at all levels both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Computer literate with Excel competency

Job Duties

  • Conduct sampling, and testing to ensure items meet specifications.
  • Maintain testing equipment utilized in proper working order.
  • Initiate non-conformances and ensure that all non-conformities are appropriately segregated
  • Perform inspection of componentry, packaging and finished products.
  • Determine conformance with inspection documents and specifications.
  • Perform detailed documentation of inspection results and ensure that all documentations are in accordance with GDP’s
  • Serve as the Quality expert in these areas and ensure that all quality requirements are met.
  • Must maintain the highest degree of customer service, quality, productivity, throughput, dependability, and safety, a clean and organized work environment, and willingness to accept change; must exhibit team cooperative spirit through assistance to others and knowledge sharing.
  • May assist in training and development of other less experience team members to promote continuous improvement.
  • Aid in performing ongoing investigations, validations and other unique projects
  • Support management in implementing quality-related directives
  • Adheres to safety rules and procedures.
  • Cross train with QC Raw Material Sampler Capable of lifting 100+ lbs. in weight
  • May perform other related responsibilities as requested; Additional tasks may be assigned.

Raw Material Sampler Job Description

Position Summary

Perform aseptic sampling of incoming raw materials so that they can be tested by the Analytical and Microbiological Quality Control labs for disposition.

Skills & Specifications

  • HS Diploma or above
  • 0 – 3 years of experience
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work in an aseptic manner to prevent cross contamination
  • Computer literate with Excel competency
  • Capable of lifting 100+ lbs. in weight
  • Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and operate with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Ability to work independently and/or under limited supervision.

Job Duties

  • Perform aseptic sampling of raw materials
  • Prepare sample labels
  • Apply identification labels upon material receipt
  • Apply approval labels upon approval of material by Analytical Lab
  • Maintain a clean work environment
  • Exercise good manufacturing and documentation practices
  • Track sample transfer information
  • Capable of lifting 100+ lbs. in weight
  • Communicate any discrepancies/concerns regarding materials to QC Lab
  • Cross train with QC incoming and QC analytical.
